About the episode
Jake is a Navy veteran who sustained a traumatic brain injury (TBI) while operating a .50-caliber machine gun during his 10 years as a SWCC. The symptoms of the TBI were debilitating and impacted all areas of his life. As Jake’s condition continued to worsen over time, he began to believe the only way out of his pain might be ending it all, until his doctor introduced him to the ancient healing medicines of ibogaine and 5-MeO-DMT. In a last-ditch effort, he traveled to Mexico to undergo the treatment.
