When Texas hired Shaka Smart to lead its basketball program, Smart was coming off of a dominant four year run at VCU, where his Rams were among the leaders in steals and turnovers every year. His frantic Havoc defense helped VCU reach the 2011 Final Four. But since moving to Austin, Smart has not been able to replicate the success or system that he used in Richmond.
